We leave today for our fourth Camino trip. There are four certificates available for the Camino Santiago. This last one is from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela. It’s a short 75 mile journey (100 km). We saved this for last since it’s the shortest. if you recall, our first trip started in France, 517 miles, I think it was 34 days walking. That was quite an accomplishment.
This trip begins with a flight to New York, then fly to Madrid. We then take a train to Sarria. It will be about 25 hours from departure before we arrive at our hotel on June 10. We start walking on the 11th. Average of 15 miles per day, and we’re done with our last Camino.
We will then head to Florence for 4 days, followed by 3 days in Madrid. Then back to Raleigh.
Am I excited? Yes. Am I a little sad? Yes. It’s our final Camino. People say – what a great adventure for Caleb. Well, this has been an adventure of a lifetime for me too.
If anyone had said – you’re going to hike the Camino four summers with a teenage boy – that would just be crazy. But, I guess I’m crazy lucky. feels dream-like in a way. So, rather than ponder this too long, I’m just going to enjoy it.
Come along for the adventure. I’ll post each day, usually late in the day, but depending on where you are – it’ll probably be early evening for you.
Thanks for checking in.

we’re excited and also already tired. Just leaving New York shortly for a 7 hr flight and then a 4 hr train ride to our starting city. It’s a long journey before we even start walking! But, so lucky to be doing this. Can’t wait to see you
