Having worked out how to get to the train station yesterday, our challenge today was where the tram was and how to buy a ticket. We were close to just getting a taxi when we worked it out. Arrived at the airport with plenty of time. Flight to Madrid was time and no problem.
Next – taking the metro to downtown Madrid. This is another feat that is not for the feint of heart. When you aren’t familiar with how to buy tickets on various types of public transport, it can be pretty humbling. But – Another success.
Our apartment was a quick 6 minute walk from the metro. So far, we’re feeling pretty proud of ourselves. But disaster was just around the corner. I managed to break a wheel on my luggage. It seems the cobblestones have taken their toll on the mighty carry-on. I’ll be looking for electrical tape tomorrow, or buying another bag. Stay tuned.
Not a lot of picture taking today. The travel struggle is real.
Here’s a few from Florence that I intended to post

Vueling is the local airline we use. They are on time, low budget, and just get the job done.

We did a quick shop. Had dinner at a tiny Chinese restaurant and came home for a light dessert – peaches and mini chocolate wafer cookies. Hit the spot.

I’m off to bed. Caleb is making pasta again. I believe that’s going to be breakfast.
Good night.
