Late in posting this for yesterday. We got in very late.
We made it to the Uffizi museum. We walked through in a very short time because they are currently redoing multiple exhibits so many of the rooms are closed. Sad for me because this is one of my favorite museums.

We didn’t want to wait in line to see the actual David (I’ve already done that). Next best thing is a replica outside Uffizi.

And then wandering the streets of Florence, people watching. Made a few costly purchases, including another trip to the market. We wanted to have dinner at a restaurant I’ve been to before but we were too early. So Caleb made fresh pasta for dinner. This effort was much better.
Shopping is exhausting. There is so much to see and do many things we’d like to buy. In the end, our purchases were more moderate than they started out. Caleb takes his time to finally make a decision. I’m done in five minutes. Maybe that’s just experience.
Next, change into cooler clothes for another round of walking around town. Stopped a fantastic place for signature cocktails. One tasted exactly like tiramisu. The things you do on vacation… I’d never drink something like that at home but in Florence – of course you must.
We lingered because it was a very cool place – urban metro, and the bartender was entertaining.

On our way out of le Menagere of we encountered two ladies that were locked out of their apartment. We talked for a while, and Caleb went up to the apartment with their keys to try and see if he could get the keys to work. No luck. Eventually, the manager arrived and let them in. The keys were just really stiff apparently.
Once we were sure they were okay, we were on our way. They invited us to visit them in Belgium. 🙂
Strolling past the duomo, late night entertainment as you would expect. This guy drew an appreciative crowd
You can’t tell, but this is nearly 1 o’clock in the morning. Plenty of people still out.
Time for bed after a long day of touristing.
Nighty night.
