Today was a travel day so not much to report. We left Santiago de Compostela at 10 a.m. for a noon flight to Barcelona. A 2-hour layover and we were off to Florence, arriving around 5:30 pm. We grabbed a taxi and on to our apartment about half an hour away.

I would not want to drive here. It is organized chaos. surprisingly, everyone seems polite and traffic continues to flow, but it’s not without excitement.

Our apartment is on the fourth floor, no lift. The place is ok, but not worth the climb.

We are very near the duomo, so ringing of bells every hour. It’s currently after 11, so I’m hoping no ringing at midnight.

We were lucky to find a restaurant just outside our door. Lovely meal and back up the stairs!

We lucked out and just outside our door is a very lovely little spot that provided us with a great dinner. It’s back up the stairs for an early night.
