Left Arzua at 9:10. Arrived at O Pedrouzo 2:10. 13 miles.
Today started again with a heavy mist that turned into a light rain. End result I was still depending on my water resistant windbreaker and hat, and survived just fine. Caleb donned his poncho for a bit, but not for long. He likes the cooler temperature.
More forestry with eucalyptus being the primary trees on the route.

Caught a photo of one flag, wasn’t quick enough to catch the Chilean flag worn by another. Caleb discouraged me from doing so anyway.

Lots of shoes left behind being put to use.

We tried stopping for lunch about mile 6, but every place was so overcrowded that we just kept walking. Eventually we reached O Pedrouza and found a place just before closing and were able to grab a quick piece of pizza.
Some lovely fuschias and hydrangeas at the entrance to town and a painted wall to welcome us.

Our place tonight has a pool; I’m sure Caleb has plans for a dip. I’ve opted for a walk into town before dinner. Nothing much to see, but I did stop at the grocery store for some snacks. Got to keep that boy fed. I managed to find a cream filled pastry that suited me just fine. All this walking sure makes you hungry😋
I’ve tried to convince Caleb that we should leave early tomorrow so as to arrive in Santiago for the noon pilgrim mass. That suggestion was vetoed.
I will try to get to one of the evening masses tomorrow. It is important to me to finish this journey on a religious note, because it feels right. If Caleb joins in, that will be a bonus. I’m not counting on it though; he has his own mind.
After dinner Caleb was determined to get in the pool. When we came back we found a man and his sheep guarding the pool; Caleb will wait til they leave I think. He did get about a half hour on his own so that worked out nicely.
One more day!!
