August 1, day 38

You won’t be surprised that we didn’t set an alarm. By the time we were cleaned up, had coffee and juice, it was nearly 11 am.

We started in search of Notre Dame to see how the renovation is coming along.

Work in progress

Passed by my favorite patisserie. They have the best croissants and amazing meringues.

Some sort of car thing happening

Lamborghini

There was a gold Lamborghini behind the red one but couldn’t get the right angle.

Lunch in the Tuileries

We headed to the Nike store where Caleb got a couple items. Another couple at Zara. Then we went in search of Claire at Cartier (someone we met four years ago). Unfortunately, she no longer works there, but I got a quick snap of Caleb with a chandelier coming out of his head. We did look around for a bit but found things were just a little out of our price range. Another time perhaps.

We made one last stop for a pizza snack then headed for the apartment. Got a better view of Notre Dame.

Time has gone too quickly. I didn’t get to a lot of places I would normally go but this was Caleb’s turn to go where he wanted. I’ll be back another time to shop and go to museums.

We walked a total of 8 miles. A pretty light day considering our Camino adventure. My feet are still not happy.

We head back to Raleigh in the morning. Back to reality, and our wonderful lives. The trip was a once in a lifetime experience, which will not be forgotten any time soon.

Thanks to all family and friends who have come along for the ride. A special thanks to those who kept in touch with comments and news of what they were doing. So nice to hear about their lives and what was going on with them while we were just trying to put one foot in front of the other. 🥾🥾

Couldn’t have said it better. Adios and au revoir.

  1. I don’t want to see it end, but I’m sure you’re both ready to get back. Thanks for the memories of Paris, too. Brought back such great times with you.
