Left Villante (or Villavante) at 8:50. Seen it spelled both ways. No wonder we couldn’t find it yesterday! Arrived Astorga at 4:15 pm. 13.2 miles.
Obsession of the day – doorknobs

Such a great day

This was a little shack with the owner providing lots of fresh fruit, juice, cold water and crackers. Contributions welcome. He was a hippie kind of Spaniard raised in France and returned home to live the peaceful life. He said he had a special ceremony to bury his past. Off we went, got a little too weird. But Caleb enjoyed the hammock.

There is a problem with the program currently. I will publish what’s here but I fear it will be repetitive and out of sync. Will edit it later, so come back to it tomorrow. Sorry!
The cathedral and museum. Oh my goodness. Amazing.

The cathedral plus museum. I am beyond happy.

Our hotel was across from the cathedral. A museum and a cathedral – I had to go. So glad I did.

Our hotel is directly across from the cathedral and the Palacio Gaudi. The palace looks like it belongs in Disneyland.

It is stunning, the cathedrals. Still so hot? Do u find u are faster as u go more days, regardless of terrain? Seems like tough climbs, drops are behind u.

We are stronger and faster for sure. I think we only have one 18+ mile left snd rest are under 15. No rain so far, fingers crossed.

I’ve tried editing this post to eliminate duplicate entries to no avail. Hopefully, the post from today will be problem free. Buen Camino

I wish I’d brought one of those little fan-like things that deters flies. When eating (in or out), it’s so annoying. I haven’t ditched anything really. But I brought two extra pairs of shorts I didnt need. Weve eaten all the snacks I brought (courtesy of my neighbors) so luggage is lighter.
Both Caleb and I will be ditching our hiking shoes in Santiago. They’ve taken a real beating.
