Left at 9:45, arrived next hotel in Puente La Reina 6:10 pm.
16.2 miles (we got lost getting to hotel and that added 1.5 miles 😦
Noisy room in Pamplona. Paper thin walls but I managed to get enough sleep. Caleb went back for a nap after breakfast.
Here’s what I know – Caleb is not a morning person.
Pamplona is a big city and there was plenty to see. But since we didn’t come to see big cities, we breezed through.
They’re getting ready for the bull run next week so lots of stalls and fences going up. As exciting as the bull run is, not sorry to miss it. Too tempting.
I passed at buying a tee shirt with a bull and blood spatter. Don’t think I’ll regret that decision.

If you were wondering – bus or walk…ta da…Gigi won and it was walk. Caleb wasn’t thrilled, but didn’t have a choice. Later – he agreed it was the way to go. Love that kid.

We had a quick snack in Zariquiegui where we would have had to get the bus. I rationalized – who knows when the next bus is? We’re in the mountains in the middle of wheat and sunflowers. Next bus could be tomorrow 🥴
Here’s what we would have missed if taken the bus and short cut— El Pedron – is the top and quite spectacular. If you’ve seen the movie, The Way, with Martin Sheen, it’s pretty moving.

The trek uphill was not as bad as we thought it would be. Down is always more difficult. However, we did it and we’re feeling pretty good about ourselves.
After descent, passed through a couple of new housing developments. Found them to be lacking in personality for the area and weirdly out of place.
One wall of interest in Maruzabal

Only other view of interest were some vineyards.

Counting on the kindness of strangers. Yup, hotel not where we expected, according to directions. Asked a young man wandering by us, and he put it on google maps for me. Thank goodness, as we would have been walking in circles for a bit. Although Caleb would have figured it out. He’s been great with directions.
Dinner tasty and filling. It’s a lovely hotel. Would gladly stay another night, but Estella is our next stop tomorrow. got to keep on track🥾🥾

FYI – I may have solved the blurry problem on photos. Fingers crossed.

I figured it out. I was editing photos to thumbnail size. Talked to Julian and he agreed I should leave as large and not worry about space on site.
Good night

I wasn’t able to load the video though. Maybe less pics and it’ll work. I might try a separate post too. Hmm
